Well Hello!

Hello again fellow blog lovers! If you have read my (short) blog you will notice I haven't posted since August. I have fallen off the wagon big time! I have decided that I want to re-invent myself. I have a youtube channel, and I also haven't posted a video on there for about five months. I want to start over! I've given it a lot of thought and I am going to start dedicating serious time to being a consistent blogger and possibly even a vlogger. That's right, a vlogger! I want to vlog! I will always have a very special place in my heart for the youtube beauty community but recently I have been obsessed with watching daily vloggers. Now I'm sure my life is nowhere near as interesting as most vloggers but I want to do this for myself. I love that I can look at my ulta haul from last year but how fun would it be to be able to watch vlogs years from now? I think it would be pretty cool. Anyway, the point of this post was to let everyone reading know that I AM ALIVE! I have some very exciting ideas in my head and I can't wait to make them happen! Until next time!

Beauty Rut

I don't know about you, but occasionally I get into a rut where I either do the same make up for the entire month, or I'm not wearing make up at all. August has been that month. I don't know why but I just haven't been in the mood to put on loads of make up. And oddly enough I have made myself comfortable in public without foundation, which is a big deal for me. I have pretty much given up use of any full coverage foundation which was all I used to wear, and now I pretty much stick to sheer, natural looking make up if I am going to wear any. I think in the month of August I have worn make up maybe ten times. It feels good to let my skin take a break but sometimes I want to get all dolled up and pretty! Hopefully I can escape this funk and get back to loving make up as much as I know I do. I'm just going to blame being busy, because I have been very, very busy. I recently moved of my grandparents house and moved in with two of my friends. I even got a vanity to store all of my make up! I will probably do a blog post about my vanity and how I store/organize all my beauty items, so keep an eye out for that! I hope you enjoyed my rant! Until next time!

Skincare Favorites!

I have always had problem skin, and I have tried so many of the cleansers out there that claim to clear up acne. Of course, none of them actually worked. I have been using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub weekly to help deep clean, however all it really did was make my skin very red and enflamed. I think it was too harsh for my skin. I decided when I got home from Virginia a few days ago I wanted to try something new. I picked up the Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser and within two days my acne has almost disappeared. It could be just coincidental but I'm really hoping it's the cleanser because if so, I have found my new holy grail face wash. 

Two other products I have really been enjoying is the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal mask, and the Dr. Brandt Dark Spots No More serum. It was very expensive but I think it is really going to help fade my acne scars. The mask is amazing. A little bit really goes a long way and when you wash it off you can really feel how clean your skin is. These are some of my recent favorites in skincare, what are some of yours? Until next time!

July Beauty Favorites!

If you are subscribed to my youtube channel and have already watched my video, then you know I have been out of town for pretty much the entire month, which has really tested my love for the products that I brought with me. I can honestly say that with the exception of my lip products, I have used everything I brought with me! Anyway, July was a good beauty month because I fell in love with a lot of products and fell back in love with some products that I hadn't used in a while. 

The Make Up Forever Aqua Cream was really my stand out product this month. I've had it for quite a while now and had only used it a few times. I never really appreciated it until this trip when I had very little time to get ready and still wanted to look presentable. I don't often rush myself to get ready at home because It's my favorite thing to do! It stays so well and is such a beautiful color.

Mini Ulta Haul!

So I'm currently in Virginia visiting my Mom and today we decided to take a little trip to Ulta! We both had some points to redeem so we thought why not! I went with the intention of purchasing the Urban Decay "Fun" palette, which had some really fun colors that I wanted to try out. Well of course Ulta was sold out of the palette with pretty much no chance of getting more in considering they were phasing out those palettes to make room for the Fall palettes that are soon coming to Ulta. I settled on the Stila In the Garden palette. 

I also remembered that I really wanted a bright blue eyeliner for under the eye pop of color, and I found a dupe for an Urban Decay liner in the Nyx Glitter Liner section so I picked that up as well. While in the checkout line I saw that the Smashbox travel size primer had been reduced to $10 so I figured now would be the best time to try it out! Those are all the things I purchased, but the best is yet to come. I'm not sure if Stila had some promotion where you buy a palette and get a free prime pot, but I got a full size Stila Prime Pot in the color Taffy absolutely free at checkout. I was beyond excited. With the $6 of points I had to redeem my total was $48.95. Success! Until next time!

WELL HELLO!

Hello Hello Hello! I am so excited to finally be launching this blog, it has been a dream of mine for quite some time and I can't wait to see how it blossoms! I created a blog on wordpress.com but I really didn't like the site so I decided to switch on over to this here site! So to start off, I'll tell you a little bit about myself. :) My name is Karlyn (car-lyn) and I live in the sunny state of Florida. I'm 19 years young and I have a doggie named Charlie. It's a girl but she looks like an old man so I decided to name her Charlie. She's a mutt I rescued from the local shelter and the subject of most of my Instagram pictures. (obsessed is an understatement)

Anyway, I hope you are as excited as I am to embark on this blogging journey. This is going to be a beauty blog but I might throw in random puppy pics or the off topic subject occasionally so I hope no one minds!
